NASDAQ OMX PHLX Announces Market Data Distributor Fees for PHLX Depth of Market and PHLX Orders

  • Effective July 2, 2012, NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM (PHLX®) will implement market data fees for PHLX Depth of Market and create a new entitlement for PHLX Orders, subject to filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
 

What are the new datafeed offerings for NASDAQ OMX PHLX?

The following new datafeeds will be available July 2, 2012:

As announced in Data Technical News #2012 -7, PHLX Depth of Market is a data feed that will provide full depth of quotes, depth of orders, net order imbalance information for the opening cross and last sale data for PHLX. This allows firms to gain additional market perspective and react to changing market conditions with a more complete view by providing full depth of both quotes and orders. Please note that PHLX Depth does not include certain information that is in the PHLX Orders feed, such as price improvement auction (PIXL) information, customer/firm indicator information or all complex order data. Please reference the specification documents for details.

As a complement to the PHLX Depth of Market feed, subscribers will also have the ability to use PHLX Glimpse, which allows for an efficient request for a current state of the PHLX system.

  • PHLX Orders: Available as a separate entitlement July 2, 2012

The PHLX Orders data feed contains the full depth of the simple and complex order book. This includes new orders and changes to orders resting on the PHLX book for all PHLX listed options. This feed is currently only available as part of the TOPO Plus PHLX Orders entitlement. For the first time, firms will be able to order the PHLX Orders feed as a separate data feed entitlement. The separate PHLX Orders data feed entitlement will be available for subscription beginning July 2, 2012.

How do firms order PHLX Depth of Market and PHLX Orders?

To order these products, firms must submit the appropriate documentation and receive prior approval from NASDAQ OMX:

  • Data Feed Request Form: Online or Hard Copy - Required for all firms, new firms must use the hard copy pdf.
  • NASDAQ OMX Global Data Agreement - Required for all firms prior to initiation of the first NASDAQ OMX data service only.
  • System Application - Required for firms only if the data will be displayed or used in a system that is not yet approved by NASDAQ OMX.
