NASDAQ OMX Announces 2014 Fee Change for External Distribution of Global Index Data Service (GIDS) to Support Expanded Content

What you need to know:

Due to previous enhancements to The Global Index Data Service (GIDS), NASDAQ OMX plans to change the following fees as of January 1, 2014:

  • The GIDS External Distribution monthly fees will increase by $500 on lower tiers and $1000 on the highest tier.
  • The GIDS Hosted Solution monthly fees will increase by $50 for delayed firms, $150 for real-time firms, and $2500 for the Enterprise License.
 

What is changing for Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDSSM)?

NASDAQ OMX® has significantly increased the number of indexes thus enhancing the value of the feed. Such additions include the Global Equity, Green Economy, Dividend Achievers, BulletShares®, Wilshire, Sharia, NASDAQ Commodity and Axioma Equity-Commodity families. As such, NASDAQ OMX® will modestly increase the GIDS tier pricing for Distributors receiving GIDS on a datafeed and distributing externally. Distributor fees for the lower tiers will increase $500 per month and $1000 for the highest tier as of January 1, 2014. Distributor cost for external distribution of Global Indexes has not increased in the last five years, while the value and content continues to improve.

This 90-day notice period provides Distributors and Subscribers time to budget accordingly in preparation for 2014.

What is the new fee schedule for Global Index Data Service?

Effective January 1, 2014, the new GIDS fee structure for external distribution will be as follows:

Entitlement Name Usage Tier Monthly Fee
GIDS Distributor Fee - External 0 to 499 Subscribers $3,000
500 to 4,999 Subscribers $5,500
5000+ Subscribers $8,500

What changes are occurring with regard to the GIDS Hosted Solution fees?

NASDAQ OMX will increase the GIDS Hosted Solution fee for delayed use, real-time use and firms on the Enterprise License. Effective January 1, 2014, these new fees will be as follows:

Per Delayed Hosted Firm $100 per month
Per Real-Time Hosted Firm $500 per month
Enterprise License $12,500 per month
