Nasdaq Modifies Fees Paid by Extranet Providers for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE)

What you need to know:

  • Effective Thursday, January 1, 2015, Nasdaq will make the following fee changes to the Customer Premises Equipment (“CPE”) fees that are assessed to Extranet providers.
  • Nasdaq is initiating these changes in order to harmonize pricing across all markets and products.

What is changing?

Effective Thursday, January 1, 2015, Nasdaq will introduce and/or modify Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) fees that are assessed for connectivity through an Extranet. These fees are pending filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and affect Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) fees that are assessed for connectivity through an Extranet. These fees are currently, and will continue to be billed directly to the Extranet provider.

What is the definition of a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) configuration?

A CPE configuration shall mean any line, circuit, router package or other technical configuration used by an Extranet to provide Information via a direct access connection to a recipient’s site. A primary and backup configuration supplied to a single location for a single Nasdaq Market is considered a single CPE Configuration.

What is the 2015 pricing structure for a CPE configuration?

Nasdaq is initiating these changes in order to harmonize pricing across all markets and products, and is providing notice as per the terms of the Nasdaq Global Extranet Agreement. These fees will continue to be billed directly to the Extranet provider.

What do I need to do?

Per the Nasdaq Extranet Requirements, Extranets are required to submit detailed reports each month listing each CPE location by Subscriber Firm to Nasdaq. Please contact Data Operations if your firm needs assistance in providing this monthly usage report.
