What is changing?
Several direct data recipients have expressed concerns about implementing the enhanced GIDS 2.0 data feed in time for the May 7th production launch. In addition, many have requested an extended Beta testing period of at least two months to allow for additional client testing and parallel verification.
In an effort to accommodate these requests from data recipients and market vendors, NASDAQ OMX LLC is delaying the launch of the enhanced GIDS 2.0 data feed. GIDS 2.0 will now be launched in Beta testing beginning on Monday, May 7, 2012. The Beta period will run for three (3) months, so clients can test their systems in parallel, until the GIDS 2.0 production launch on Monday, August 20, 2012.
Will there be weekend testing opportunities for GIDS 2.0?
In addition to the three month Beta testing period, NASDAQ OMX LLC will offer a weekend Saturday testing opportunity on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Additional weekend tests will be announced as they become available.
Given the additional operational hours of GIDS 2.0, NASDAQ OMX LLC strongly encourages parallel testing of the enhanced service once it becomes available for Beta testing in May. This will afford clients the best testing opportunities since the Beta feed will be operational during market hours.
Please note: The Saturday, March 31, 3012, test that was initially announced has been cancelled.
When will the current GIDS service be retired?
Although the Beta testing and production launch dates have been postponed, NASDAQ OMX LLC will still retire the current GIDS service on Friday, December 28, 2012. NASDAQ OMX LLC hopes that the extended Beta testing period will allow direct recipients to fully test their access and processing of the data.
Please note that GIDS 2.0 will become the premier product for the global delivery of NASDAQ OMX and third party index and ETP values; as such, all indexes launched after August 2012 will only be available on GIDS 2.0. NASDAQ OMX strongly encourages data recipients to migrate to GIDS 2.0 in order to ensure uninterrupted delivery of their real-time index and ETP values as well as receiving all newly released indexes and ETPs.
