What you need to know:

  • Effective immediately, Nasdaq® will offer an additional multicast IP address for the proprietary Nasdaq Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDS) data feed in the Carteret data center.
  • Subscribers must complete the Nasdaq Data Feed Request (DFR) to gain access to the new "Carteret B" feeds.
  • The "Carteret B" feeds will not be disseminated on any handoff that also contains the original "Carteret A" data feeds. Please see below for additional details.

What is changing?

As part of our continuing efforts to bring ample resiliency and recovery options to the industry, Nasdaq is introducing an additional multicast IP address for the proprietary GIDS data feed in the Carteret data center. Data disseminated from this new address will be published from a unique source range, independent of the source range of the original Carteret data feeds. This addition offers firms an alternative redundancy option in Carteret for data continuity.

When will the new IP address be made available?

The UDP/IP Address List on the Nasdaq Trader® website now includes IP addresses for data feeds that have an associated Carteret B Feed.

Please note: the Carteret B Feeds are only available for multicast subscribers.

The GIDS Carteret B Feed IP information is provided below:

Site Channel/Purpose Group Port Source IP Address
New York Metro Area "B" - U.S. Broadcast - Single Channel 233.54.12.31 55372 206.200.245.192/26
Rerequest 55072 206.200.245.36

What is the affected data feed?

Nasdaq Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDS) is a premier real-time data feed that consolidates all Nasdaq indexes and ETF valuation data, as well as third-party partner data.

Are data feed subscribers required to connect to the new address?

No, Nasdaq is offering the new IP addresses as an option to improve market data subscribers’ redundancy and resiliency.

Is there an additional fee to gain access to the GIDS Carteret B Feed?

While there are no additional direct market data charges, certain connectivity fees may apply. Please contact your Nasdaq account representative or reach out to us at Nasdaq Global Data Sales or +1 301 978 5307.

How can subscribers request access to the new “B" data feed?

You can request access by completing the Nasdaq Data Feed Request Form.

In "Connectivity Options," select "Nasdaq Data Center - Carteret B Feed."

In the “Comments” section, indicate the handoff that you would like to receive the Carteret B feed.

Please note: Nasdaq will not disseminate the new GIDS Carteret B Feed and the GIDS Carteret A Feed on the same handoff. Nasdaq Market Data Procurement will work with subscribers to determine the most efficient handoff over which they would like to receive the Carteret B Feeds.
