UPDATE - Nasdaq’s Web Based Products will migrate to DNS names from IP addresses

What you need to know:Effective Monday, June 29, 2020, Nasdaq’s Web Based Products will require DNS access in lieu of IP Addresses. Update 6/8/2020 – The testing dates for new DNS address is postponed. Users can test the new DNS address starting June 21, 2020. Update 6/16/2020 - Please remember to always use the DNS name to ensure a transparent DR Failover. If you need to submit the firewall rules or need to whitelist the addresses, please reach out to dataproducts@nasdaq.com for additional information on exact IP addresses. |

What is changing?
On Monday, June 29, 2020, Nasdaq will retire the use of hard coded IP addresses for its web based products.
Users accessing hard coded IP addresses will need to update their internal systems to access Nasdaq web based products via DNS address: ftpes://sftpdata.nasdaq.com.
Update 6/16/2020 - Please remember to always use the DNS name to ensure a transparent DR Failover. If you need to submit the firewall rules or need to whitelist the addresses, please reach out to dataproducts@nasdaq.com for additional information on exact IP addresses.
Note: Customers are required to update all of their systems to the DNS name if the IP addresses are currently being used. Effective June 30, the IP address will no longer work and clients will experience an interruption in service.
What data products are being impacted?
The following Nasdaq web based market data products will be impacted by this change:
- Daily List
- Nasdaq Daily Share Volume (DSV)
- Fundamental Data
- Short Interest
- Short Sale Volume and Transaction Reports
- NFI Historical Data
Why is Nasdaq implementing this change?
Nasdaq continually reviews changes that strengthens the integrity of the system and this change supports that mission.
Will there be testing opportunities for the new DNS address?
Update 6/8/2020: Yes, users can test the new DNS address starting June 21, 2020. Users accessing the server via the hard coded IP address can move to DNS: ftpes://sftpdata.nasdaq.com.
Please note: The DNS (ftpes://sftpdata.nasdaq.com) is currently in operation and can be utilized today. For clients using the DNS name, there is nothing to do. And this change will not impact customers already using the DNS (ftpes://sftpdata.nasdaq.com).
When will the current IP address be retired?
The current IP address will be retired on Monday, June 29, 2020.
