NASDAQ OMX Chosen as the New Dissemination Partner for the Russell Real-Time Global Indexes

Who is Russell Investments?

Russell Investments is a global investment company that provides strategic advice, world-class implementation, state-of-the-art performance benchmarks and a range of institutional-quality investment products. What are the Russell Global Indexes?

The Russell Global Indexes are a family of global equity indexes that represent the investable market by providing index coverage of 98% of investable securities. The indexes include approximately 10,000 securities in 70 countries, developed and emerging markets, small-, large- and all-cap companies. Russell's global indexes offer an objective and transparent way to accurately measure distinct segments of the global market. They are constructed consistently with the family of U.S. Indexes and are a comprehensive global benchmarking tool.

Which Russell Indexes will NASDAQ OMX disseminate in real-time?

Russell Investments has selected The NASDAQ OMX Group^® as its index dissemination provider for select Russell Global Indexes. On Monday, January 11, 2010, NASDAQ OMX Information, LLC will begin disseminating 17 indexes in USD currency via the Global Index Data Service^SM (GIDS^SM):

How will the values of these Russell Global Indexes be disseminated?

Beginning January 11^th, NASDAQ OMX Information, LLC will disseminate index values for the Russell Real-Time Global Indexes listed above on its proprietary GIDS data feed.

These index values will be identified as NASDAQ OMX family (Originator ID of "Q") in the message header field. Upon initial implementation, the index value will be updated at 15-second intervals and may be disseminated between 2:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and 5:00 p.m. ET.

In addition to the real-time tick messages, NASDAQ OMX will support the following directory messages on GIDS:

• Index Directory Messages - This message will provide the index identifier, index name, market value, divisor and the index base value.

Please note: NASDAQ OMX will not support an official Index Settlement Value nor the Issue Participation Directory message on GIDS for the Russell Global Indexes at this time.

Will there be an Index End of Day Summary message for the Russell Global Indexes?

NASDAQ OMX plans to support the End of Day Summary messages (Category A – Type B) for the Russell Global Indexes on a T+1 basis. For the Russell Global Indexes only, NASDAQ OMX will disseminate the End of Day Summary messages at approximately 2:00 a.m., ET, the following business day. For display purposes, GIDS subscribers should include the summary message data with the prior day’s index values.

The End of Day Summary messages for Russell Global Indexes will include all Russell Real-Time Global Indexes as well as the Russell once-a-day global indexes.

Will there be an additional charge for the Russell Global Indexes on GIDS?

No. NASDAQ OMX is pleased to provide the Russell Global Indexes as part of its standard GIDS offering at no additional charge.
