FINRA Alternative Display Facility (ADF) Participant Deactivation

What you need to know:

  • Beginning Monday, February 2, 2015, LavaFlow ECN (MPID: FLOW) will no longer be an active participant on the FINRA Alternative Display Facility (ADF).

  • Given that the ADF system is still operational, FINRA will continue to send Session Open and Session Close control messages to the UTP SIP for inclusion on UQDF, UTDF and OMDF:
    • FINRA Market Session Open (Category C; Type O), Originator ID of "D"
    • FINRA Market Session Close (Category C; Type C), Originator ID of "D"

  • LavaFlow ECN is currently the only FINRA ADF participant. Until such time as FINRA has a new ADF market participant, FINRA will cease to disseminate ADF quotation or ADF trade data to the UTP SIP for inclusion on the UTP data feeds.

  • The FINRA Trade Reporting Facilities (TRFs) will continue to disseminate trades over the UTDF by the Participants with whom a TRF has been formed.

  • All TRF trades contain a Participant Identifier ‘D’ in the UTP Message Header and the ‘Sub-Market Center Identifier’ field is populated with the Participant Identifier associated with the Participant who initiated the trade message.
