BATS to Join UTP Plan and Phase-In NASDAQ Listed Securities

Summary:

  • The Unlisted Trading Privileges (UTP) Operating Committee has received a request from the BATS Exchange Inc. (BATS), to join the UTP Plan. The following Market Center Originator ID will be added as allowable values for UQDF, UTDF and OMDF data feeds:
    • BATS Exchange Inc. (BATS), ("Z")
  • With the recent Securities and Exchange Commission approval of the formation of the BATS Exchange Inc., (BATS), BATS plans to commence quoting and trading of NASDAQ-listed securities under the UTP plan on Friday, October 3, 2008 in select test securities.
  • BATS plans to phase-in quoting and trading of NASDAQ securities and intends to maintain a UTP rollout schedule on their web site.

On Friday, October 3, 2008, BATS is planning to phase-in quoting and trading of NASDAQ-listed® securities, beginning with the following symbols:

BATS plans to to maintain a current UTP rollout schedule on their web site.

Impact on Data Feeds:

BATS Exchange Inc. (BATS) quote and trade data is disseminated via the UTP Quotation Data FeedSM (UQDFSM) and the UTP Trade Data FeedSM (UTDFSM). BATS will be identified by the market center originator identifier value "Z" in UQDF, UTDF and the OTC Montage Data FeedSM (OMDFSM) message headers and the UQDF national best bid and national best ask identifier value "Z" in the national BBO appendage.
