What you need to know:

  • Effective Wednesday, April 1, 2009, PHLX will implement new pricing for select permit fees.
    • Order Flow Providers and Other Permit Holders will be charged $500 per month.
  • Effective for trades settling on or after Wednesday, April 1, 2009, customer transaction fees in PHLX World Currency Options will be $0.44 per contract side.
  • PHLX will modify the fees associated with inbound linkage Principal Orders and linkage Principal Acting as Agent Orders, upon approval by the SEC.
  • Effective Monday, June 1, 2009, the Order Entry Port Fee will be a flat rate of $250 per month, per subscription.

What is the new pricing for select permit fees?

NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM (PHLX®) will implement new pricing for select permit fees effective Wednesday, April 1, 2009. All Order Flow Providers and Other Permit Holders will be charged $500 per month.

Which Permit Fees are impacted?

These pricing changes only affect the Order Flow Providers and Other Permit Holders. The rates for Floor Brokers, Specialists, Registered Options Traders (ROTs) [including Remote Streaming Quote Traders (RSQT) and Streaming Quote Traders (SQT)] or Off-Floor Traders remain the same.

What is the new pricing for PHLX World Currency Options?

For trades settling on or after Wednesday, April 1, 2009, customer transaction fees in PHLX World Currency Options will be $0.44 per contract side. Also, the $4,000 per trade per-side cap is eliminated.

What are the new Principal Orders and Principal Acting as Agent Orders fees?

PHLX will also modify the fees associated with inbound linkage Principal Orders and linkage Principal Acting as Agent Orders, upon approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Transaction fees for Principal Orders will now be $0.45 per contract and fees for Principal Acting as Agent Orders will be $0.30 per option contract.

What is the new pricing for the Order Entry Port Fee?

Effective Monday, June 1, 2009, the Order Entry Port Fee will be a flat rate of $250 per month, per subscription. Currently, the $250 fee is assessed based on whether or not the Order Entry Port is used within a given month.
