Effective Monday, February 8, 2016, Nasdaq Options Market (NOM) and Nasdaq BX Options (BX Options) will introduce External Kill Switch functionality. Nasdaq PHLX (PHLX) is expected to launch External Kill Switch functionality in mid-March.

The Kill Switch will provide participants with a GUI to request all, or a portion of, quote and/or order interest to be cancelled on the Exchange. Once cancelled, no additional interest will be accepted until the participant has verbally requested re-entry with the Exchange.

If a participant submits an External Kill Switch request to cancel their quotes and/or orders, the participant must contact Exchange staff to enable re-entry into the system. The use of Kill Switch functionality is optional.

Please contact Subscriber Services or U.S. Market Operations for additional information regarding the set-up of External Kill Switch.
