What you need to know:

As Nasdaq continues to invest in our data product offerings, we will be making several enhancements to our ISE and GEMX Trade Outline offerings.

These enhancements deliver a streamlined and consistent experience through harmonized formatting (already live across MRX and BX Trade Outline offerings), and stronger platform reliability driven by key infrastructure upgrades.

Clients must migrate to the enhanced versions during the 90-day parallel migration period concluding on August 24th, 2026. This will be impacting both intraday and End of Day (EOD) offerings. During the migration, data will be published on the current and enhanced Trade Outline tables via Nasdaq Data Link. The current ISE and GEMX Trade Outline tables will be decommissioned following the end of the migration.

What is changing?

The ISE and GEMX Trade Outline migration will impact both the intraday and EOD experiences. In addition to the new vendor and table codes required to access the new data tables, the data will now be categorized and display transactions in the same format as MRX and BX Trade Outline data. Please refer to the ISE and GEMX Trade Outline Field Mapping Spreadsheet for more details.

The enhanced tables will not have size buckets for each customer’s origin and will instead display each specific type of transaction into one concise bucket. In addition to data harmonization, ISE and GEMX data will now include Market Maker volume.

What is the timeline of the migration plan?

ISE and GEMX Trade Outline data tables will have a 90-day parallel migration period, where both the current and enhanced ISE and GEMX data tables will be available. Following the end of the parallel migration period on August 24th, 2026, the legacy data table will be decommissioned.

Migration Milestone Milestone Date
Start of parallel migration Tuesday, May 26th, 2026
End of parallel migration Monday, August 24th, 2026
Disconnect Legacy Trade Outline Access Tuesday, August 25th, 2026

How do clients access the enhanced IISE and GEMX Trade Outline Offerings?

Clients may access the ISE and GEMX Trade Outline experiences by utilizing each table's vendor and table code to retrieve the enhanced data tables through Nasdaq Data Link.

Nasdaq will provision existing ISE and GEMX Trade Outline clients with access to the new ISE and GEMX Trade Outline data tables, so no client requests will be required. Upon provisioning, an email will be sent verifying access, along with instructions and additional details.

Why are these changes being made?

Nasdaq is standardizing the ISE and GEMX Trade Outline data to provide a seamless client experience between various Trade Outline offerings. By standardizing each data point and delivering a consistent experience, clients will be able to efficiently process and ingest each table. These enhancements allow for a more resilient product experience for end users.

What is Trade Outline?

Trade Outline is a market data offering that provides proprietary electronic options trade data to subscribers seeking to better understand investor sentiment and trading activity. Trade Outline includes aggregate trade quantity and trade volume for each customer origin type of trade for every option series traded during the trading day. Activity is further broken down by opening buy, closing buy, opening sell or closing sell.
