REMINDER: 2025 Failover and Market Wide Circuit Breaker Testing Schedule

What you need to know:

  • As previously announced in UTP2024-18, the SIP's will conduct data center failover testing to the secondary data center as well as Market-Wide Circuit Breaker (MWCB) Breach Level 1 and 2 (7% breach and 13% breach) along with Level 3 (20% breach).

  • The next scheduled test with the Participants will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025. This is the dedicated MWCB test that will include a Level 3 (20% breach). All Data Subscribers are invited to participate in this test to validate the expected processing within their systems.

  • Testing will be conducted between 9:00 - 12:00 a.m. ET. Specific failover times will be unannounced in order to simulate unexpected real-time occurrences.

  • Remaining Testing Schedule for 2025 is as follows:
    • Saturday, April 5, 2025 (Failover; MWCB Level 1 & 2 Test #1) - COMPLETED
    • Saturday, July 26, 2025 (Failover; MWCB Level 1 & 2 Test #2) - COMPLETED
    • Saturday, September 13, 2025 (Dedicated MWCB Level 1, 2 & 3)
    • Saturday, December 6, 2025 (Failover; MWCB Level 1 & 2 Test #3)
