  • In preparation for this launch, NASDAQ is now offering a beta test version of the NLS data feed at its New York area data center.

Background
As announced in NASDAQ Vendor Alert #2007-005, NASDAQ® plans to launch the new, real-time proprietary NASDAQ Last Sale data feed in the second quarter of 2007, pending SEC approval. The NLS service will carry real-time order execution data from the consolidated NASDAQ system as well as trade data from the NASD/NASDAQ Trade Reporting Facility (TRF) for the full range of NASDAQ- and non-NASDAQ listed securities.

Beta Testing Opportunities
In response to customer demand, NASDAQ is offering a beta version of the NLS data feed at its New York area data center for testing purposes. NASDAQ will run the NLS data feed in both TCP/IP and MoldUDP network protocol options during this beta testing period. For information on how to access the NASDAQ data center, please refer to the NASDAQ Connectivity Providers document.

In this initial beta test version, NASDAQ disseminates real-time trade data from the consolidated NASDAQ system for the full range of NASDAQ-listed and non-NASDAQ-listed securities. NASDAQ also supports the full range of administrative and control messages as outlined in the NLS message format specifications. For technical support during the NLS beta period, please contact NASDAQ Development Support.

Trade data for the NASD/NASDAQ TRF is not yet supported; however, NASDAQ expects to add this data to the NLS product during the beta period. NASDAQ also plans to roll-out the NLS data feed to direct data feed subscribers at its Mid-Atlantic data center in April of 2007.

Production Release
Once NASDAQ receives SEC approval, the official NLS production launch date will be announced. Until then, NASDAQ will operate NLS in a real-time beta production mode.
