Overview:
As outlined in NASDAQ Vendor Alert #2008-66, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRATM) will support real-time dissemination of all foreign and American Depository Receipts (ADR) issues that trade over-the-counter beginning Monday, October 27, 2008. FINRA expects that the peak message rates on the Trade Data Dissemination ServiceSM (TDDS) data feed will rise as a result of this trade processing change.
FINRA has also modest growth in quotation activity for OTC Bulletin Board® (OTCBB) securities in recent years. FINRA disseminates OTCBB quotation data via the Bulletin Board Dissemination ServiceSM (BBDS).
Bandwidth Changes:
To keep pace with these traffic trends, FINRA has decided to increase the bandwidth allocations for its TDDS and BBDS data feeds. Effective Monday, January 26, 2009, the new bandwidth allocations for the FINRA feeds will be:
Data Feed | Data Content | New Bandwidth Allocation |
---|---|---|
Bulletin Board Dissemination Service (BBDS) |
| 400 Kilobits (Kb) |
Trade Data Dissemination Service (TDDS) |
| 200 Kb |
Please note that TDDS and BBDS are both offered as IP multicast protocol feeds only. The bandwidth allocation is stated for a single IP multicast data group.
