Effective August 10, 2026, The Nasdaq Stock Market (“Nasdaq”), Nasdaq Texas (“NTX”) and Nasdaq PSX (“PSX”) (collectively, “Nasdaq Exchanges” or "Exchanges") will make operative certain previously approved amendments to their respective trading halt rules that are the result of coordinated work by the Nasdaq Exchanges and the other SROs to establish common criteria and procedures for halting and resuming trading in equity securities when regulatory or operational issues arise. The amendments incorporate several definitions and concepts from the amended Nasdaq UTP Plan and are intended to promote consistent and transparent treatment of events that may affect multiple exchanges. The Nasdaq Exchanges believe that these common standards will help the SROs maintain fair and orderly markets. The Exchanges will continue to retain discretion in certain instances as to whether and how to handle halts. Once operative as scheduled, the updated rules include the following changes:
For additional information, please find Nasdaq Exchanges’ rule filings in SR-NASDAQ-2022-017_Amendment_1, SR-BX-2023-007 and SR-Phlx-2022-49. See also Nasdaq UTP Amendment 50.
