What you need to know:

  • The NASDAQ Options MarketSM (NOM) has updated its technical specifications to support the planned implementation of technological enhancements and updates referred to as NOM 2.0, as announced in Options Trader Alert #2010-78.
  • NOM 2.0 will be implemented in late April 2011, pending filing with and approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). NOM will communicate further as details on timing become available.
  • Firms should prepare their systems to accept the changes associated with NOM 2.0.

What has been announced?

NOM has updated the following technical specifications to support the planned implementation of technological enhancements and updates referred to as NOM 2.0, as announced in Options Trader Alert #2010-78.

What is NOM 2.0?

As announced in Options Trader Alert #2010-78, NASDAQ OMX® is planning several technological enhancements and updates for NOM, pending filing with and approval by the SEC, in order to provide richer functionality to its membership. Additionally, the enhancements will align NOM technology with NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM (PHLX®) technology, which will offer common interface and market data formats, allowing firms to streamline business and development efforts across the two exchanges.

NASDAQ OMX will refer to the implementation of the enhancements as NOM 2.0.
