UTP SIP Extended Trading Hours

What you need to know:
- As mentioned in UTP Vendor Notice 2026-15, starting December 6, 2026, the industry has agreed to begin operating UTP SIP on a new schedule that will cover 23 hours 5 days a week. Upon implementation of this new schedule, the UTP SIP will begin on Sundays at 21:00 (9:00pm EST) through Fridays at 20:00 (8:00pm EST) with a planned 1-hour maintenance window each evening between approximately 20:00 – 21:00 (8:00pm – 9:00 pm EST).

What are the testing opportunities?
As directed by the UTP Operating Committee and in preparation for the December 6 implementation, UAT industry testing will begin on Friday night at 11:00 p.m. EST. The system will remain available through standard Saturday testing hours (8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) to support all testing needs.
UTP SIP, in consultation with SIAC and the UTP Operating Committee, has established the following testing opportunities:

Will this testing be conducted over the Production Multicast IPs?
Yes, this testing will be conducted over the Production Multicast IPs, and it is CRITICAL that Direct Data recipients take necessary precautions to protect their systems against database corruption during these extended trading hours testing dates.
Data Recipients wishing to participate in these tests should be prepared to accept the data beginning at 11:00 pm EST Friday evenings and continue to record this through the Saturday testing window over the Production IP Multicast Channels. To ensure that this testing does not impact or corrupt your production data systems, consider it an extension of the regular Saturday testing.
What will the new Transmission Schedule be on December 6, 2026, when Extended Trading Hours is fully implemented?
An updated Transmission Schedule will be introduced following the implementation of the new extended trading hours. Full details on the revised schedule will be shared in an additional announcement prior to December 6, 2026, launch.
