What is changing?
In direct response to customer feedback, Nasdaq is enhancing its Totalview FPGA ITCH heartbeat logic to stop producing heartbeats if there is any delay detected in processing longer than one heartbeat interval. This will result in quicker alerts to our FPGA customers using the FPGA heartbeat to signal redundancy actions between FPGA and Software ITCH.
When is this changing?
This enhancement will be released on close of business Friday, February 12, 2021 for trading activity for Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Will FPGA customers need to make any changes from this change?
No, but as always, it is Nasdaq’s recommendation that FPGA customers always arbitrage between FPGA and Software ITCH, in addition to redundancy plans in case of an outage. This change will have no impact to current aggregation or dissemination of data in the normal course of business.
