What you need to know:

  • Effective April 2, 2012, NASDAQ OMX® will revise the pricing structure for the NASDAQ OMX Global Index Data ServiceSM (GIDSSM) Internal Distributor fee to a tiered fee structure.
  • In addition, effective April 2, 2012, NASDAQ OMX will introduce a new fee for Distributors receiving a delayed GIDS datafeed.

What is changing?

GIDS, NASDAQ OMX’s premier index data feed service, offers real-time updates as well as daily summary information for NASDAQ OMX and third-party indexes and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). Effective April 2, 2012, the GIDS Internal Distributor Fee will be revised from a flat fee to a tiered structure. In addition, a new monthly fee will be introduced for Distributors receiving a delayed GIDS datafeed. These price changes are reflective for any version of the GIDS feed.

Why is NASDAQ OMX implementing this change?

In developing pricing for GIDS, NASDAQ OMX’s goal was to keep costs fair for all market data distributors as well as to promote widespread distribution of real-time data to the public. These fees bring the product offering in line with other major index providers while still providing a low-cost solution.

NASDAQ OMX continues to improve its products and services and provide value for its customers. As announced in DTN #2011 – 27, NASDAQ OMX LLC will launch an enhanced version of GIDS, GIDS 2.0, in April 2012, powered by INET technology. Designed to meet customer demands, firms will benefit from expanded global index coverage, operational hours and additional summary data. NASDAQ OMX will continue to strive toward providing the full range of product choices demanded by our global customer base.

What fees are associated with this change?

Effective April 2012, the revised pricing for GIDS is as follows:

0-5 subscribers = $350
6-100 subscribers = $1,000
101+ subscribers = $2,500
