Network Update to Support NASDAQ Technology Refresh

What you need to know:

  • NASDAQ OMX is undergoing a technology refresh on The NASDAQ Stock Market system.
  • New IP addresses will be provided for all OUCH, Flite, and Drop ports.
  • FIX/RASH ports will not require new IPs.
  • Customer migration will commence in October 2013, with an end date for all ports to be migrated by December 31, 2013.

What is changing?

NASDAQ OMX® is currently undergoing a technology refresh on The NASDAQ Stock Market® (NASDAQ®) system. State-of-the-art network and server equipment will be deployed in order to achieve a more efficient and more robust infrastructure to support the growing needs of our customers. The refresh is part of the NASDAQ OMX commitment to leading the industry in technology standards.

What do I need to do to?

Customers will be required to make the necessary network and IP changes in order to connect to the new NASDAQ market system via their OUCH, Flite, and Drop ports. NASDAQ OMX will begin advertising the New Equities network: 206.200.120.0/21 beginning July 26, 2013 in order to give our customers ample time to prep their network confirmations. Specific port IP addresses will be provided in the beginning of September, along with any testing detail.

Do I need to make changes if I connect via FIX or RASH?

No, FIX/RASH ports will not require new IPs.

Will I be required to hot-cut my ports?

No, both the old and the new environments will be live in parallel for the migration period of October through December 31, 2013. Customers may migrate at their leisure during this period, but must be completed by the end of December.
