Nasdaq to Begin Dissemination of New Third Party Indexes on GIDS, Effective Monday, February 19, 2018

What you need to know:

Effective Monday, February 19, 2018, Nasdaq, through its data dissemination relationship with Borsa Instanbul, will send daily index level information on the Nasdaq Global Index Data Service (GIDS).

What are the new indexes?

BIST Stock indices are created to measure the joint performance of group of stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul. BIST 30 and BIST 100 indices consist of 30 stocks and 100 stocks, respectively, selected among the stocks of companies traded on the BIST Stars and BIST Main Markets and the stocks of real estate investment trusts and venture capital investment trusts traded on the Collective and Structured Products Market. How are the indexes disseminated?

Effective Monday, February 19, 2018, data recipients will receive end of day index information from the proprietary GIDS data with the following attributes:

Nasdaq will support the following directory messages on GIDS:

  • Equities Summary (Message Type F): Disseminated at the end of the U.S. and European trading session to relay the summary of the current trading day's activity for an equity index.
  • Index Directory (Message Type R): Disseminated at the start of each day to relay basic index information.
