What you need to know:
- Effective Monday, March 1, 2010, NASDAQ OMX will begin to support Symbol Directory and Trading Action messages on the NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE products.
- NASDAQ OMX is adding the two administration messages to ensure that NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE subscribers have the current trading status for all NASDAQ-, NYSE-, NYSE Amex- and NYSE Arca-listed securities at the time of the order book refresh request.
What are the NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE products?
NASDAQ GLIMPSE is an optional retransmission facility for the NASDAQ TotalView-ITCHSM service that provides firms with a current state of the NASDAQ® order book at any given point during the trading day.

As of March 1, 2010, NASDAQ OMX® supports the following versions of the NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE service:

What is changing?
To ensure that firms have the trading status information for all securities in the NASDAQ or BX order books, NASDAQ OMX is adding Stock Directory (Type R) and Trading Action (Type H) messages to the NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE products.
Please note that GLIMPSE will use the same Stock Directory and Trading Action messages as the associated TotalView-ITCH direct data feed product.
On GLIMPSE, NASDAQ OMX will begin the retransmission with a full Stock Directory spin for all NASDAQ-, NYSE-, NYSE Amex- and NYSE Arca-listed issues set up on the NASDAQ or BX trading platform. Following the spin, NASDAQ OMX will disseminate the current trading status as well as open orders for all active securities in the NASDAQ or BX systems at the time of the GLIMPSE retransmission request.
When will firms begin to see the Trading Action and Symbol Directory messages on the NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE products?
NASDAQ OMX will support the Stock Directory and Trading Action messages on NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE beginning Monday, March 1, 2010.
Please note that existing NASDAQ GLIMPSE and BX GLIMPSE customers will automatically see the Stock Directory and Trading Action messages, effective Monday, March 1, 2010.
