NASDAQ OMX PHLX Announces PHLX Orders Market Data Feed Updates

What you need to know:

  • NASDAQ OMX® is planning several updates for the PHLX Orders market data feed.
  • NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM (PHLX®) anticipates the implementation of these changes on December 10, 2012 and February 4, 2013.
  • PHLX Orders is available as a standalone data feed or as part of the TOPO Plus Orders data product.

What are the PHLX Orders feed updates and when will they be implemented?

December 10, 2012
  • Updated Complex Auction Notification Message for PIXL.
  • Updated Auction Notification Message with an Order Exposure Auction Type. Order Exposure auction message is sent when there is an exposed buy (or sell) order available for execution at the NBO (or NBB). The exposed order volume may be routed away.
February 4, 2013
  • Updated Auction Notification Message and Complex Auction Notification Message for Solicitation.
  • Updated Complex Order Message with a new Re-notification value. Re-notification indicates that the resting complex order previously published is within the execution price range of the complex strategy's NBBO.

Implementation is pending filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

What is the PHLX Orders data feed?

The PHLX Orders data feed contains the full depth of the simple and complex order book. This includes new orders and changes to orders resting on the PHLX book for all PHLX listed options. It also includes opening imbalance data, Price Improvement XL (PIXL) data and Complex Order Live Auction (COLA) information.

PHLX Orders is currently available as a standalone feed or as part of the TOPO Plus Orders data product.

Will testing opportunities be available?

Testing availability will be announced at a later date.

How do firms order PHLX Orders or TOPO Plus Orders?

To order these products, firms must submit the appropriate documentation and receive prior approval from NASDAQ OMX:

  • Data Feed Request Form: Online or Hard Copy - Required for all firms, new firms must use the hard copy PDF.
  • NASDAQ OMX Global Data Agreement - Required for all firms prior to initiation of the first NASDAQ OMX data service only.
  • System Application - Required for firms only if the data will be displayed or used in a system that is not yet approved by NASDAQ OMX.
