The NASDAQ Options Market and NASDAQ OMX PHLX Will Begin Publishing Uniform Quality of Execution Statistics

What you need to know:

  • The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) has worked with the Options Exchanges to voluntarily publish uniform quality of execution statistics.
  • Monthly Quality of Execution reports for PHLX are available on the NASDAQ Trader website beginning today, Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Reports for The NASDAQ Options Market will be available next week.

What is changing?

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) has worked with the Options Exchanges to voluntarily publish uniform quality of execution statistics. The reports in the revised format are now offered by The NASDAQ Options MarketSM and NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM (PHLX®).

This effort was accomplished as a result of a coordinated effort between the exchanges and the SIFMA Equity Options Trading Committee. NASDAQ OMXSM applauds the hard work and dedication of all participants to bring uniform published monthly statistical data to the public.

When and where will the reports be available?

PHLX Monthly Quality of Execution reports are available on the NASDAQ Trader® website as of today, Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Reports for The NASDAQ Options Market will be available next week.

Will historical data be available?

Monthly reports for October, November and December 2008 will be available. Each month’s report will be posted in the first half of the following month (e.g., the January 2009 report will be available in early-to-mid-February).
