What you need to know:

  • Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, PHLX will update its pricing for Singly Listed Options.
  • Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, PHLX will update its pricing for dividend, merger and short stock interest strategies ("Strategy Pricing").
  • Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, PHLX will implement a daily and monthly cap for reversal and conversion strategies.
  • Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, NOM will update its pricing for HGX, OSX, and SOX.

What is changing in regard to PHLX Singly Listed Options?

Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, NASDAQ OMX PHLXSM (PHLX®) Professional, Firm, and Broker-Dealer transaction fees will increase from $0.45 to $0.60 per contract. Specialist and Market Maker transaction fees will increase from $0.35 to $0.40 per contract.

What is changing in regard to PHLX Strategy Pricing?

Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, dividend, merger and short stock interest strategies caps will increase from $1,000 per day, per options class to $1,250 per day, per options class and the monthly cap ("Monthly Strategy Cap") will increase from $25,000 to $35,000. The $10,000 per member organization element of the current Monthly Strategy Cap will be eliminated.

What is being implemented in regard to reversal and conversion strategies on PHLX?

Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, option transaction fees will be capped at $750 for reversal and conversion strategies executed on the same trading day in the same options class when members are trading in their own proprietary accounts. For Specialists, Market Makers, Professionals, and Broker-Dealers, the $750 will be counted toward the Monthly Strategy Cap for reversal and conversion strategies. For Firms, the $750 will be counted toward the Monthly Firm Fee Cap, which is $75,000 per month, and not for the Monthly Strategy Cap for reversal and conversion strategies.

What is changing in regard to The NASDAQ Options MarketSM (NOM) pricing for HGX, OSX and SOX?

Effective Monday, December 3, 2012, Professional, Firm, and Non-NOM Market Maker transaction fees will increase from $0.45 to $0.60 per contract. NOM Market Maker transaction fees will increase from $0.35 to $0.40 per contract.
