What is changing?

On October 1, 2015, Nasdaq introduced new versions of Nasdaq Last Sale (NLS), NLS Plus, Nasdaq Best Bid and Offer (QBBO), BX Last Sale (BLS), and PSX Last Sale (PLS).

As outlined in Data Technical News #2015–7, Nasdaq will introduce NextShares as a new instrument class in 2016. Versions 2.1 of NLS, NLS Plus, and QBBO will incorporate changes to accommodate the new exchange-listed class. In addition, as announced in Data Technical News #2015–11, versions 2.1 of NLS, NLS Plus, BLS, and PLS increased timestamp granularity to reflect nanoseconds.

The new 2.1 data feeds were launched in parallel with the retiring 2.0 versions. At the request of subscribers, Nasdaq has extended the termination of the 2.0 versions until Friday, February 26, 2016. To avoid loss of data on Monday, February 29, 2016, subscribers are required to migrate to versions 2.1 by February 26, 2016.

*The timestamp on the BBO data feeds are currently disseminated at the nanosecond granularity. For uniformity, BX BBO and PSX BBO were also moved to 2.1 versions. There are no data formatting or networking changes required for these two data feeds.
